WALL PIECES
My wall pieces range from small, lightweight works to larger pieces designed for outdoor spaces and garden installations. Each is made from thousands of Italian vitreous glass and French porcelain tesserae, individually hand-cut and placed. These are sometimes combined with Murano glass, Italian smalti, marble and stone to introduce different textures, surfaces and qualities of light.
Inspiration comes from a wide range of sources, including travel, topography, cartography and toponymy, as well as music, poetry and geometry. These subjects often provide the starting point for exploring ideas through colour, pattern, texture and structure. Depending on the intended location, the mosaic is mounted onto solid MDF or Tricoya, an exceptionally durable engineered panel suitable for exterior use. Each piece is supplied ready to hang with appropriate fixings.
